After graduating with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Rochester, Dr. Gail Schupak earned her D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1983. Two years later, she received her Certificate in Orthodontics from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. She has been in orthodontic practice since 1985 and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York University College of Dentistry with an appointment in the Department of Orthodontics since 1993.
Registered in both New York and New Jersey, Dr. Schupak is a member of numerous local and national dental organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Manhattan Dental Study Club. She is a past president of the New York chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists and currently serves as Treasurer. Dr. Schupak was also a past president of the New York Academy of Orthodontics. She has been inducted into the prestigious American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics. She recently served as the program chair of the New York Academy of Dentists. She is on the board of the New York County Dental Society and has been a delegate to the New York State Dental Society. She is a chairperson for the Greater New York Dental Meeting where she is in charge of the first ever Global Orthodontic Conference.
In her spare time, she is a Special Olympics/Special Smiles volunteer, International President of the Alpha Omega International Dental Society, and a volunteer with the Alumni Network at the University of Rochester. She was on the board of the Alpha Omega Dental Foundation, a charitable organization committed to furthering philanthropic needs. Dr. Schupak also serves on the Dean's Council for the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. When she's away from the office, Dr. Schupak enjoys biking, swimming, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with her daughter, Sarah and her fiancé, Lloyd.
