First Visit

What to Expect at Your First Visit

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient's orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. Your first orthodontic visit will consist of an examination and discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will address your orthodontic needs to determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment.

After we have evaluated your records, we conduct a treatment consultation to explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. We will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your treatment, goals and estimated fees. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent, and as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • Completed patient registration forms

  • Any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months.

  • If you have orthodontic insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at the first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.

Advanced Technology

Digital Photography

We are proud to utilize the latest technology available to ensure our patients enjoy the best results. We use high-resolution digital photography to capture detailed images of your mouth, thus enabling us to maintain sharp, accurate records and keep you thoroughly informed of your treatment progress.

Digital Models/Impressions

Our office uses the most state-of-the-art technology available to help create the smile you want, which is why we use digital models/impressions. Using the iTero® digital scanner, we will take three-dimensional digital images, or impressions, of your teeth and bite. These impressions are then sent to our nearest Cadent-partnering lab, where they will fabricate a model of your teeth. No impression trays with sticky putty needed!

The digital impressions and the model will help us formulate a personalized treatment plan that meets your specific needs and desires. We can also use them to visually show you your treatment options and help us keep you up-to-date on your treatment progress.

Some benefits of iOC™ digital impressions over traditional putty impressions include:

  • Accuracy: They capture the exact contours of your teeth.

  • Efficiency: They require less time in the treatment chair.

  • Comfort: Taking the digital images is less invasive. No putty is used, and patients are more at ease without fearing they will gag on the impression trays.

  • Customizability: They provide a digital plan and allow for trays that are tailored to meet the individual needs and desires of each patient.

  • Visualization: They provide each patient with a definite picture of what their teeth will look like before, during and after orthodontic treatment.

  • Innovation: They use the most advanced 3-D video technologies.
